Taiwanese airline, EVA Air has placed an order with Airbus for 18 of its largest offering, the A350-1000 and 15 A321neo medium-haul aircraft.
The airline currently operates 18 Airbus A321ceo narrow-body jets, which will be replaced by the newer generation A321neos. The A350-1000, which can seat up to 410 passengers, will become the airline’s flagship aircraft, replacing some of the carriers oldest Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, which were first delivered to in 2006.
The airline also operates Airbus A330-200 and -300 aircraft, which are in the process of being replaced by Boeing 787-9 and -10 aircraft.
In a statement EVA Air president, Clay Sun said: “The aircraft also bring significant reductions in carbon emissions, which is in line with our company’s sustainability goals. For long-range operations the A350-1000 sets new standards in its class and will allow us to offer our passengers the best possible in-flight experience.”
