VoePass ATR72 crashes near Sao Paulo

A VoePass ATR72-500, registered as PS-VPB and operating a domestic flight from Cascavel to Sao Paulo, has crashed into a residential area near Sao Paulo. According to VoePass, there were 57 passengers and 4 crew members on board flight 2Z2283. According to the state‘s governor there are no survivors. The flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder were recovered from the wreckage.

Videos circulating online show the aircraft spinning towards the ground, others show the wreckage engulfed in flames. Data from flight tracking websites shows the aircraft descending at over 17,000 feet per minute during the final moments of its flight after momentarily climbing at over 20,000feet per minute.

VoePass is a Brazilian regional airline and operates a fleet of 15 aircraft, all manufactured by ATR on domestic routes to and from various airports in Brazil. It was originally founded in 1995 as Passadero and rebranded as VoePass in 2019.
