Belgian carrier Air Belgium has taken delivery of its first Airbus A330neo aircraft.

Starting on October 15, Air Belgium will deploy its first A330neo jet on its route from Brussels (BRU) to Mauritius.

In addition to this new A330neo, Air Belgium has ordered a second A330-900neo that is expected to enter service in November. The airline’s new aircraft type features 286 seats in a three-class layout.

Later this year, the A330neo airplanes will fly from Brussels to Punta Cana and Curaçao. The carrier’s services from Charleroi Airport to the Caribbean will also continue in December. However, these flights are scheduled to be operated by its existing Airbus A340-300s.

The Belgian carrier currently operates an all-Airbus widebody fleet comprising A330-200F, A330neo and A340-300. The newly added A330neo type will gradually replace the older A340-300.
