A helicopter belonging to the owner of British football club Leicester City FC crashed outside King Power Stadium on Saturday at about 8:30 pm local time.
The involved aircraft was a 2016 built AgustaWestland AW169, registered as G-VSKP. It was scheduled to fly from Leicester to London Luton. The club was operating two AgustaWestland helicopters.
Pictures and videos on social media show a huge fire on the stadium’s car park. Five people were on board the helicopter when it crashed, including Thai billionaire and Leicester City FC owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, one of his daughters and two pilots.
All five people on board were killed in the crash.

The crash occurred shortly after a Leicester FC football (soccer) game against West Ham United at the stadium.
Witnesses say the helicopter lost control and began to spin shortly after taking off from the pitch.
