German pilots’ union Vereinigung Cockpit (VC) has announced that Lufthansa and Lufthansa Cargo pilots will start a strike action on Friday, September 2.
From 00:01 until 23:59 local time, all Lufthansa departures from German airports could be affected. The airline announced on Thursday that around 800 flights will be cancelled at its hubs in Munich and Frankfurt. Passengers are advised to check their flight status.
At the same time, pilots of Lufthansa’s subsidiary Eurowings also voted in favor of a potential strike that could start in the near future.
Vereinigung Cockpit represents a total of 9.600 members.
