Algerian flag carrier, Air Algérie has placed an order for five Airbus A330-900neo and two A350-1000 airliners. The airline’s widebody fleet currently consists of eight previous-generation Airbus A330-200, five of which were delivered in 2005, with an additional three added in 2015. Air Algérie’s narrow body fleet is made up of 28 Boeing 737 NG aircraft and 12 ATR 72.
The choice of the A330-900 will maintain commonality with the operator’s existing A330ceo aircraft, whilst also alongside the A350-1000, increasing operating capacity, given both aircraft are larger than the A330-200. Neither Airbus nor Air Algérie has said when they expect deliveries to commence.
