Aeromexico has taken delivery of its first Boeing 737 Max 9 jet. The Mexican carrier’s first 737 Max 9 is registered as XA-IMH and arrived in Mexico City (IATA-Code: MEX) on Saturday. The entry into service is planned for this month.
The airline already operates Boeing 737 Max 8 jets, as well as Boeing 737-700NG and 737-800NG aircraft. Aeromexico resumed Boeing 737 Max operations in December 2020 after the worldwide grounding of the aircraft type was lifted.
For its long-haul services, Aeromexico runs a fleet of Boeing 787-8 and 787-9 Dreamliner airplanes. On regional services, its subsidiary Aeromexico Connect operates Embraer E190s.
Besides additional Boeing 737 Next-Generation and Max jets, the airline has a further four Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft on order.
