Belavia has taken delivery of its first Embraer E195-E2 jet, which is leased from AerCap. An additional two E2s will join the airline’s fleet in March and April 2021.
The national carrier of Belarus plans to deploy the new 125-seat aircraft on routes to European cities, including London, Barcelona, Munich, Paris and Amsterdam. Furthermore, the airline mentioned Nur-Sultan and Sochi as potential destinations for the Embraer E2.
Belavia already operates first-generation Embraer E190 and E195 jets. Additionally, the fleet consists of Boeing 737 versions, including 737-300, 737-500 and 737-800. The airline also signed leasing agreements for Boeing 737 MAX jets at Farnborough Airshow in 2018. The older-generation Boeing 737-300 and -500 are expected to leave the fleet and to be replaced by Embraer E2 and Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.
