Air Lease Corporation first to order A321XLR

At the first day of the Paris Air Show 2019, Air Lease Corporation (ALC) agreed to order over 100 Airbus aircraft. The Letter of Intent (LOI) includes 50 A220-300s (formerly known as the Bombardier CSeries), 27 newly developed A321XLR and an additional 23 A321neo jets. The aircraft lessor will be the launch customer of the extended A321neo version. Furthermore, this is the first A220 order for the Los Angeles-based company.

The new A321neo version is expected to be delivered in 2023. Airbus says the A321XLR offers an increased range of up to 4,700nm / 8,700km. This will enable operators to open new longer range routes such as India to Europe or China to Australia, as well as further extending transatlantic flights.

Air Lease Corporation was founded in 2010 is Airbus’ third largest lessor customer with cumulative orders of over 380 Airbus aircraft. For example. the lessor has already ordered the A321LR jet that will be delivered to Aer Lingus, SAS and numerous other airlines.
