At the Dubai Airshow 2021, India’s new carrier Akasa Air and Boeing have announced an order for 72 Boeing 737 Max airplanes.
The deal includes two variants of the Boeing 737 Max family: the 737 Max 8 and the 737 Max 200, which is a higher density variant of the Boeing 737 Max 8, fitting more seats while sacrificing legroom and comfort. Boeing designed this version specifically for low-cost carriers. Since June this year, the high-capacity aircraft type is in service for launch customer Ryanair.
The new Indian carrier plans to offer commercial flights starting in summer 2022.
