German leisure carrier Condor has opened a maintenance facility at Dusseldorf Airport.
The hangar is operated by subsidiary Condor Technik GmbH and is capable of performing maintenance on the Airbus A320 familiy. Around 100 employees (including 80 mechanics) are working at the Dusseldorf maintenance facility, which has space for up to three aircraft.
Condor plans to maintain its entire Germany-registered Airbus A320 and A321 fleet at the new Condor Technik facility in the future.
Condor, owned by Thomas Cook Group, currently bases nine aircraft at Dusseldorf Airport, which are flying to 35 destinations, making Condor the second largest airline at the airport in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), Germany, with Lufthansa-owned low-cost carrier Eurowings being the largest airline. In total, Condor operates 49 aircraft, including the Airbus A320 family, Boeing 757-300 and 767-300.
