Amazon Air will lease ten more Boeing 767-300 freighters from Air Transport Services Group (ATSG). The Boeing freighter aircraft will be operated by ATSG on behalf of Amazon. Five 767s are expected to join the Amazon Air fleet in 2019 and another five in 2020. The leasing contracts are signed for ten years, with the possibility to extend the agreements for up to three more years.
Furthermore, the two companies agreed to extend the leasing agreements for twenty 767 aircraft ATSG currently provides to Amazon. This includes the existing five-year leases of twelve 767-200 aircraft that began in 2016 and the existing seven-year leases of eight 767-300 aircraft from 2016.
Amazon Air’s cargo fleet is operated by Atlas Air and Air Transport Services Group (ATSG) in wet-leasing contracts. The latter company consists of the two cargo airlines ABX Air and Air Transport International. ATSG is the world’s largest owner and operator of converted Boeing 767 freighter aircraft.
