This week, Delta Air Lines announced a new seasonal route between Boston and Edinburgh. Delta’s 8th nonstop transatlantic destination from Boston will be operated by Boeing 757 aircraft, starting in summer 2019.
“Direct air links to the United States of America play an important role for Scotland’s economy, so I warmly welcome the announcement of this new service between Edinburgh and Boston”, said Scottish Government Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure and Connectivity Michael Matheson.
In addition to the new route from Boston, the airline serves Edinburgh from its hub at New York JFK Airport.
Both transatlantic routes to Edinburgh will be operated by Boeing 757-200 airplanes, which are equipped with 20 seats in Delta Premium Select, 29 seats Delta Comfort+ and 150 seats in the Main Cabin.
In 2019, Delta will serve a total of 16 international destinations from Boston Logan Airport. Earlier this month, the airline started its 51st nonstop destination from Boston Logan.
Furthermore, Delta has recently announced a new transatlantic connection between Boston and Lisbon.
