Eurowings has taken delivery of its first Airbus A320neo aircraft. The carrier’s first Airbus ‘neo’-family aircraft is registered as D-AENA and arrived in Dusseldorf on April 1st. It expected enter service in June 2022.

In the coming years, the Lufthansa-owned low-cost carrier will receive a total of 13 Airbus A320neo family jets, including both A320neo and larger A321neo airplanes. The A320neos feature a seating layout for 180 passengers, the A321neo for 232. Deliveries of the latter aircraft type are expected to start in 2023.
Whereas other airlines of the Lufthansa Group, namely Swiss and Lufthansa, operate Airbus A320neo family aircraft that are equipped with Pratt & Whitney engines, Eurowings’ A320neos are the first of the group to be powered by CFM-Leap engines.
The German low-cost airline currently has a fleet of Airbus A319ceo and A320ceo airplanes. Furthermore, leisure airline Tuifly operates Boeing 737-800 aircraft that are in wet-lease service for Eurowings.
