Saudi Arabian Airlines, also known as Saudia, has taken delivery of its first Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner. The brand new aircraft joins the airline’s existing fleet of thirteen Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner jets.
Saudia’s Boeing 787-10 airplanes are equipped with a total of 357 seats, whereas its 787-9 aircraft have 298 seats in a two-class configuration.
In addition to the 787, Saudia currently operates a total of 33 Boeing 777 aircraft that are mainly used on international long haul flights. The member of the SkyTeam airline alliance will receive nine additional 787-10 jets. On top of that, the carrier has Airbus A320, A321 and A330 jets in its fleet. Furthermore, the national airline of Saudi Arabia has outstanding orders for A320neo as well as A321neo family aircraft. Thirty Airbus A320neo jets will be delivered to its low-cost subsidiary Flyadeal, after the carrier cancelled its commitment for the Boeing 737 MAX. Deliveries of the new airplanes are due to start in 2021.
