Azul becomes latest Airbus A330neo operator

Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras has taken delivery of its first Airbus A330-900neo and becomes the latest operator of the aircraft type.

The brand new aircraft has been registered as PR-ANZ and departed from the Airbus production site in Toulouse on Friday evening. It is expected to arrive in Belo Horizonte on Saturday morning.

In addition to Azul, the airlines TAP Air Portugal, Air Mauritius and Air Senegal have already taken delivery of Airbus A330neo aircraft. Therefore, Azul is the first A330neo operator that is based in Latin America.

The Brazilian airline has a further four A330neo jets on order. In addition to the A330neo, the carrier has outstanding orders for ten A321neo aircraft.

Azul currently operates a jet fleet of Airbus A320neo, A330-200 and Embraer ERJ-190/195 aircraft. Besides, the carrier deploys ATR 72 turboprops on regional flights. Furthermore, Azul Express Cargo operates a few freighter aircraft, including leased Boeing 737-400F airplanes.
