Fiji Airways welcomes its first Boeing 737 MAX

Fiji Airways, the flag carrier of Fiji, has received its first Boeing 737 MAX 8. The brand new aircraft is registered as DQ-FAB and named ‘Island of Kadavu‘. The Fiji-based airline is the first carrier in the Pacific Islands to operate the 737 MAX and plans to take delivery of a further four Boeing 737 MAX airplanes until 2019.

Fiji Airways currently serves destinations in Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Japan, Singapore and seven other countries from its base at Nadi International Airport. The airline signed codeshare agreements with various airlines including Air New Zealand, Alaska Air and British Airways.

As of December 2018, the Fiji Airways fleet consists of Airbus A330-200/-300s as well as Boeing 737-700/-800 aircraft.
