Chinese carrier Air Travel has received its first Airbus A320neo aircraft on Friday. The brand new A320neo is registered as B-30A2 and performed its first flight on July 18. It joins the airline’s existing all-Airbus fleet of A319, A320ceo and A321 jets that operate on domestic flights from the airline’s hub at Kunming Changshui International Airport.

In total, Air Travel will receive four Airbus A320neo jets through a leasing agreement with GECAS. The carrier plans to expand the fleet to 20 aircraft around 2020.

The Chinese airline launched operations in May 2016. Two years later, in 2018, the carrier changed its name from Yunnan Hongtu Airlines to Air Travel. It is a Joint Venture (JV) between a local entrepreneur, who owns 20% of the airline, and Kunming Evergreen Financing with 30%. Furthermore, five additional companies each hold 10% in the airline.
