Indonesian full-service carrier Batik Air has received its first Airbus A320neo aircraft.
Similar to its existing A320ceo airplanes, the new A320neos are equipped with two-class configuration for a total of 156 passengers.
The Jakarta-based airline is a subsidiary of Lion Air Group. In March 2013, the group placed an order for 234 Airbus A320 family aircraft, including A320neo, A321neo and A320ceo jets.
In addition to the newly delivered A320neo, Batik Air already operates Airbus A320ceo, A330-300, Boeing 737-800 and 737-900 aircraft. The airline’s Boeing jets are set to be transferred to other subsidiaries of Lion Air and to be replaced by A320 family planes.
