Azerbaijani flag carrier, Azerbaijan Airlines has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the purchase of 4 Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft.
President of the airline and former pilot, Jahangir Askerov says that he’s very happy with the performance of the airline’s existing two 787-8s and is looking to expand as the industry recovers from the Covid-19 pandemic.
The airline hopes to operate a fleet of 10 Dreamliners by 2030 in an effort to expand its operation in Central Asia. Mr Askerov also said he’s disappointed in the ending of the 747 and 757 programs and that the airline would be very interested if Boeing was to introduce a direct replacement for the Boeing 757.
