Airbus and Kuwait-based carrier Jazeera Airways have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for 28 Airbus A320neo family aircraft at the Dubai Airshow 2021.
The agreement consists of 20 A320neo and eight A321neo jets. Furthermore, the airline has secured an additional five purchase rights.
Jazeera Airways started operations in 2005. The airline plans to expand its current fleet size to 35 aircraft by 2026. Currently, the carrier operates an all-Airbus fleet of A320ceo and A320neo airplanes. In 2018, Jazeera Airways took delivery of its first Airbus A320neo aircraft. The older A320ceos will gradually be replaced by the new A320neo and A321neo jets.
The carrier’s route network mainly includes destinations in the Middle East, as well as a newly established connection between Kuwait and London Heathrow. The route is operated by Airbus A320neo jets since June 2021.
